Our class is named after the British artist L.S.Lowry who was known for his pictures of industrial scenes in cities in the North of England.
Welcome to Year Four!
I hope you all had a wonderful summer holiday and are looking forward to the new school year. I thought it would be helpful if I outlined some of the routines for this term.
Our topic this term is Ancient Greeks and in science we will be looking at sound. We are hoping to have our first class trip towards the end of term, where the children will have the opportunity to dress up as ancient Greeks and participate in workshops at Kent life, more information to follow.
Children can change their reading books every day when necessary. Please write clearly that the book has been completed in your child’s reading record as we will need to see this before they choose a new book.
Please make sure your child’s PE kit is in school every day and clearly named. We will be outside weather permitting for PE this term, so if your child wishes to have jogging bottoms for when it gets colder that is fine.
Homework and a homework letter will go out every Friday. Children will have spellings and two other pieces of work supporting maths, literacy, science or topic. Homework is due back in school the following Thursday. Tables test and spellings with dictation will be on a Thursday.
If you have any concerns or worries at any time, please do not hesitate to come in and see me.
Thank you for your support.
