Welcome to Holmes - Y4!

 

Dame Kelly Holmes is one of the UK’s most popular athletes, respected throughout the world as a role model, inspiration and British sporting icon.

My aim throughout the year is to instil within the class a ‘never give up attitude’, inspiring the children to believe that whatever their dreams and aspirations are in life, anything is possible. As a role model I believe Dame Kelly Holmes epitomises these values perfectly!

A 2x Olympic gold medalist, her career reflects the importance of hard work, determination and self-belief, which can be the catalyst to achieving both individual and collective goals. This ethos fits perfectly with the vision of our school and the key skills we aim to embed within are pupils.

Kelly was born just up the road in Tonbridge, and I hope that being a local girl she would welcome the opportunity to come to Challock and visit our year 4 class, talk about her remarkable career, whilst coordinating various P.E workshops/activities with the children.

The Holmes class will aim to promote and reflect these values within all areas of their forthcoming academic year.
