Why Darwin Class?

Charles Darwin (1809-1882) was an English naturalist who first theorised that different species of life have the same ancestor, evolving over time. This theory of evolution is now the base of biological sciences. Darwin was born in Shropshire, England, but also lived at Down House in Kent, where our Year 6 class visit each Autumn as our class trip. We learn about Darwin through our Evolution unit in Science, and also write about him and his life as part of an 'exploding book' biography!
