PTA End of Year News
Wed 20 Jul 2016The nature of the PTA membership of 2015/16 was brilliantly reflected in the support we received for our last event, the Sports Day Picnic.
People offered the time that they had and we all came together to create a really inclusive event.
The whole year has been in a similar vein. Our core membership has been varied. People have been flexible enough to offer their time when they have it and others have stepped up when we found ourselves with gaps. The true definition of a team.
THANK YOU:
Everybody that baked, contributed school uniform items, Christmas hamper items, chocolate, teddy bears….. the list goes on !!!!
Thank you to the PTA members:
Annabel Burden
Shona Hallam
Gina Homewood
Sarah Howard
Maria Lambkin
Anna Osborne
Michelle Parker
Lou Pestell
Emma Pike
Sam Polley
Wendy Reed
Jennie Smith
Lisa Stewart
Mark Stewart
We held a Christmas Fair, we had a full house at our Pub Quiz, multiple school uniform sales and bake sales.
We organised and funded a circus experience day for the whole school and held a Treasure Hunt around the village. We finished the year with, quite literally, a scorching Sports Day Picnic.
The money we raised as a group and with lots and lots of parents help paid for most of the new school laptops - something that every child in the school will benefit from during their education.
We will hold our next PTA event/AGM, late September, 2016. You’re all welcome.
Thank You - and whether you formally support us by being member of the team or help at any of the events we organise, please keep on helping !
Warm Regards,
Graeme

Their children came to Challock School, Pat has been a parent governor and Teaching Assistant and still works very hard helping our readers in reception.
The art gallery looked amazing so well done to all the chldren who took part. We hope you enjoy their art pieces for many years to come.
All funds made from this event will go towards future art events. Many thanks for your support -

Netball report: Challock 9 - 5 Smeeth
Fri 13 May 2016Well another great game of Netball this week from the Challock team. This match was the final in this group and decides our next grouping.Smeeth won the toss. We started well and won the first goal, shortly followed by a return goal by Smeeth. We kept up the pace and finished the first quarter with Challock leading 4-2. Well done Zach, some great shooting! The second quarter was just as successful. We defended well and intercepted most of Smeeths possibilities with Elliot and Leticia scoring another 4 goals, finishing the second quarter 8 -3. Smeeth upped their game in the third quarter catching up with a further 2 goals, without scoring we maintained our lead. The final quarter ended with just one goal being scored by Charlotte for Challock and the game finished with a score of 9-5!! A great win, despite the rather unexpected chilly, windy weather.Drew was voted by the umpires as this week's Star Player.
We now find out which pool we move into having won 3, drawn 1 and lost just 1 match in the group stages.
